Information For Voters

Registration

• All voters must be on the permanent Electors Registry.
• Check to confirm if you are registered to vote and that your information is up to date. If not, you will be added at the time of the election. Visit Voterlink.

Voter eligibility

• You are eligible to vote in the election if:

• • You are at least 18 years old,
  • You are a Canadian Citizen, and
  • You reside in Alberta, and your usual place of residence is located in the local jurisdiction on election day.

Voter ID requirements

• All registered voters are required to show valid government issued identification containing the voters name and photograph.
  • Samples of common identification: Alberta Drivers Licence, Canadian Passport, Canadian Citizenship Card, Canadian Forces ID card, Veterans Health Care ID card, First Nation Membership card, Métis Nation of Alberta Citizenship card. 
• All non-registered voters will be required to complete a statement of elector eligibility and show valid government issued identification containing a photograph, name, and current address. If unable to produce government issued photo identification, you'll be required to provide valid ID with your name and address, such as a bank statement, personal cheque, mortgage statement, income tax assessment or vehicle ownership/registration.

• The app will allow you to enter your address and will identify which voting stations you are eligible to vote at, which is the closest to you, and it also gives you directions!
